About Us
Welcome to the Colehill First School website.
Colehill First School
‘A Happy School, Where Children Love to Learn!’
Message from the Executive Headteacher
Colehill First School was established in the 1890s, initially as a primary school, before local authority reorganisation in the 1970s to the 'three tier system' of first, middle and upper schools. It was rebuilt in 2004, having outgrown its previous accommodation. Colehill First School is one of seven Wimborne schools that together founded Wimborne Academy Trust in March 2015.
We are community school for children from 4-9 years of age. Children transfer at the end of year 4 to St Michael's CE Middle School, also within Initio Learning Trust.
We are open from 8.40am and school starts at 8.55am. The end of the afternoon session for the children is 3.15pm.
Ours is a school with a strong community spirit. We believe in close partnership between home and school, and warmly welcome parents / carers and family members into school. Our active PTA - the Colehill First School Association - contributes hugely to the resources and opportunities that we can offer our pupils, thanks to the commitment of parents and community members.
